Irish Week 2025, hosted by the Irish Heritage Club of Seattle, promises to be another vibrant celebration of Irish culture, heritage, and community.
Spanning a week of engaging events and activities, this cherished tradition invites everyone—from those with deep Irish roots to those simply curious about Ireland’s rich history and lively traditions—to join in the festivities.
Kicking off on March 8th, Irish Week showcases the very best of Irish music, dance, art, literature, and cuisine. Signature events include the lively St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Mayor’s Proclamation Luncheon at the prestigious Rainier Club, and the Irish Festival at Seattle Center, where families can enjoy live performances, cultural exhibits, and workshops.
This year’s theme, “Ireland’s Contribution to Global Technology and Innovation,” recognizes the nation’s rich history and ongoing role in driving groundbreaking innovation and technological advancements that have left a lasting impact worldwide.

Genealogy Seminar

The Ulster Historical Foundation’s North American Tour stops at, Everett, on March 2nd for an engaging genealogy seminar.

Emerald City Irish Film Festival
March 7-9, Pacific Science Center.
This year, we are thrilled to announce a dynamic partnership with the Irish Film Institute’s IFI International programme in Dublin and Culture Ireland. Together, we are committed to showcasing a remarkable selection of contemporary Irish films, bringing the rich storytelling and culture of the “Emerald Isle” right to the heart of the “Emerald City.”
The festival will take place at the Pacific Science Center IMAX theater. Its spacious screens and comfortable seating make it the perfect location for enjoying cinematic excellence with fellow film enthusiasts. If you were fortunate enough to attend the 2024 Emerald City Irish Film Festival, you experienced a carefully curated selection of films sourced from the vaults of esteemed Irish production companies. Each film was chosen to highlight the depth and diversity of Irish cinema, offering Seattle audiences a unique glimpse into the creative talents emerging from Ireland.

Irish Soda Bread Baking Contest
March 8, TS McHughs, 21 Mercer Street, Seattle
The Irish Heritage Club’s annual Soda Bread Baking Contest, supported by Kerrygold, celebrates the cherished tradition of Irish soda bread.
Open to all skill levels, participants showcase their recipes in categories like traditional, brown, and sweet. Judged by experts, the event highlights community spirit, cultural pride, and delicious baking during Irish Week festivities.

Mayors’ Proclamation Lunch
March 14, Rainier Club.
This year’s Mayor’s Proclamation Lunch, proudly sponsored by Miller Nash, will take place at the esteemed Rainier Club.
With expanded seating for up to 150 guests, this special event kicks off St. Patrick’s Weekend and celebrates Irish Week by bringing together Irish-American community members, local leaders, and dignitaries to honor Seattle’s rich Irish heritage and foster cultural connections.
Guests will enjoy a three-course lunch, a full bar, and traditional Irish entertainment, while reconnecting with friends from Seattle’s Irish community. Proclamations for Irish Week 2025 will be presented by representatives from the City, County, and State, alongside dignitaries from our Sister City, Galway.

The Irish Heritage Club of Seattle hosts the annual Painting of the Green, transforming downtown Seattle with a vibrant green stripe along 4th Avenue. Celebrating Irish culture, this iconic St. Patrick’s Day tradition brings together the community, volunteers, and families to kick off Irish Week festivities with pride and festive spirit.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 15, 4th Ave, Seattle.
Seattle’s 54th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates Irish culture and heritage with music, dance, and vibrant displays. Starting downtown, the parade brings the community together in a joyful procession of floats, bagpipes, and cultural pride. Join us for this iconic tradition honoring Ireland’s spirit and enriching Seattle’s festive Irish Week!

Irish Festival Seattle
March 15 & 16, Seattle Center.
The Irish Festival Seattle, part of Irish Week, celebrates Irish culture and heritage with vibrant music, dance, and art.
Held at The Seattle Center, this years festival features live performances, cultural exhibits, Irish Dancing, Irish cooking & baking, An Irish bar, Whiskey Tasting, Digital Art Exhibition, Lecture Series, and activities for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy traditional Irish food, shop for crafts, and immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Ireland. With free admission, the festival welcomes everyone to join the fun and connect with the Irish community.
Full list of Festival performers, dancers, activites, lectures, vendors and actractions (including an Irish bar) will be published in early February.
Irish Night at The Kraken

The Irish Heritage Club have have partnered with the Seattle Kraken to provide members of the Irish community a sporting way to round off Irish Week celebrations.
Starting in The Climate Pledge Arena at 6:00 PM as festivities in the Seattle Centre wind down, The Kraken take on the Winnipeg Jets as we turn the Ice Green
