Memorial Day Mass
The annual Memorial Day Mass will be held in St Patrick Cemetery on May 25 at 10.30 am with Fr Martin Bourke as celebrant. A wreath will be laid at the grave of a veteran along with the playing of the Last Post.
The Mass will be an outdoor event and will happen no matter the weather. A small number of seats are provided but please feel free to bring a folding chair to ensure you have a place to sit.
St. Patrick Cemetery was founded by Irish immigrants in 1880 and undoubtedly many Irish Famine immigrants are buried there. The cemetery is thought by many to be the location that has the most genuine Irish ties in the Seattle area! KIRO’s 'My Northwest' once called the cemetery “A Little patch of Ireland on the edge of the Kent Valley”
