An exclusive screening of ” Rebel Wife” sponsored by Celtic Crossroads a Bainbridge Island retailer and The Irish Heritage Club.
Join us for an Irish Evening on Thursday, August 14th at 6:00 pm at the historic Lynwood Theater featuring the Irish documentary, “Rebel Wife,” and meet the filmmaker, Williams Cole, great-grandson of “Rebel Wife” Mary Jane O’Donovan Rossa and her husband, the famous Fenian rebel, Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa.
You’ll enjoy traditional Irish music, fun trivia, and your $15 ticket purchase will enter you in a drawing for a $150 gift certificate at Celtic Crossroads, a Bainbridge shop with beautiful Irish clothing, fine jewelry, artwork, and fun Irish gifts.
The film relates the untold story of poet, organizer, and revolutionary Mary Jane O’Donovan Rossa, a woman whose courage, planning, and determination helped free Ireland. Williams Cole, great-grandson of Mary Jane and Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, made the film as a companion to his “Rebel Rossa,” a 2016, film about the centenary of Rossa’s death and famous 1915 funeral in Glasnevin Cemetery, which played a key role in instigating the Easter Rising of 1916.
