Irish Heritage Club
The Irish Heritage Club is by far the largest and most active Irish organization in the greater Seattle area. It is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization, which promotes Irish cultural activities in the greater Seattle and Puget Sound areas, especially activities that promote the Irish language, Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish history, Gaelic games, and cultural exchanges between the Puget Sound area and Ireland. Spokane-Limerick Sister City Society
The Society officially began on March 4, 1990 when a joint agreement linking the two cities was signed in Spokane by the Mayors of Spokane and Limerick. Irish Sean-Nós Dancing
Sean-nós, which means ‘old style’ or ‘old way’ in Irish Gaelic, is a form of old-style Irish step dancing. A percussive solo dance, Sean-nós is a living folk tradition that mostly survives in the Connemara Gaeltacht on the West Coast of Ireland. It is performed at céilís, in pubs or houses to the sound of traditional Irish music. In Seattle, both beginner and intermediate classes for adults are offered at Open Flight Studio, 4205 University Way NE.
